Students Perform in Annual Halloween Band Concert

The SHS Wind Ensemble hosted their annual Halloween Concert last Monday. The concert has been a part of the band tradition for more than ten years.

"It's very fun and scary," said Joe Boertmann, the SHS band director.

The Halloween Concert is a yearly performance reserved for the Wind Ensemble. They performed Witch Hunt of 1692 by Rob Grice, Danse Macabre by Camille Saint-Saens, and The Witching Hour by Randall D. Standridge.

They finished the performance with their traditional rendition of Psycho (Prelude) by Randall D. Standridge.

All the musicians were in costume, including Boertmann who was dressed as Harry Potter.

"I've always connected to music," said senior Jade McRae, who has been in Wind Ensemble, Panther Band, and Jazz Band for all four years. "It's kind of like my escape that I can always turn to."
