Five Princesses Selected for Homecoming Queen

On Monday, October 9, the SHS student body gathered to view the annual homecoming presentation assembly, prepared to “meet” the princesses on the homecoming court as well as announce the five nominees for queen.

This assembly showcased the eleven senior girls nominated for the Homecoming Court by the graduating class of 2018. In years past, only ten princesses are elected, but due to the unusual circumstances where a tie existed for tenth place, all eleven girls will be recognized.

The eleven princesses voted by the senior class include seniors Samantha Beeman, Ally Berg, Araceli Daza, Drew Greenhalgh, Emma Lande, Morgan Marshall, Julia Remlinger, Sami Reynolds, Grace Sturlaugson, Joy Winston, and Katelyn Yeoman. The five nominees for queen are Beeman, Berg, Daza, Greenhalgh, and Sturlaugson. These girls will be voted on by the entire student body.

Voting began on Monday, October 9 and will continue until 2:30 pm on Monday, October 12.

The homecoming coronation assembly will kick off homecoming week on October 16, where the queen will be announced.
